You pay after the matter is settled or resolved in your favor. We will take an agreed percentage from the monies you receive at the completion of the matter. This is known as a contingency fee.  The law firm gets paid when you get paid by the negligent party or the insurance company acting on behalf of the negligent party.

If you are physically able, you should note the following information;

name of the driver (s) of the motor vehicle

name of the owner (s) of the motor vehicle

vehicle registration number

insurance company and policy number.

date and time of the accident

The place and exact location of the motor vehicle accident, and if possible, the

name and rank of the Police at the scene of the accident.

Get medical attention immediately

Report the accident to the police and to the insurance company.

Keep all your receipts

Give all information, documents, and receipts to your Lawyer.

Typically, the amount depends on some of the following;

Cost of medical expenses

Cost of medical reports and police reports

Lost wages

Transportation expenses

Other out of pocket expenses incurred as a result of the motor vehicle accident

The nature and gravity of the injuries for example, whether there is any permanent disability, impairment, or disfiguring.

If there is a successful negotiation leading to the settlement, the matter will NOT proceed to trial. If there is no settlement offer; the matter will be taken to trial. Once the matter is filed in court, you will be expected to attend all court hearings.

This depends on several factors, including:

How quickly the insurance company accepts liability of the claim, invites counsel to submit details of the claim, and make a reasonable offer to settle the claim.

It also depends on the extent of the injuries as it is often more prudent to make a claim at the end of medical treatment. The physician will be better able to speak to permanent disability and give a comprehensive medical report after treatment is completed.
